Holistic Treatments for the Body & Soul

Acupuncture is the first line of medicine in many parts of the world. It is a painless, non-invasive, drug-free treatment to treat problems like chronic pain, nausea, fertility issues, arthritis, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, TMJ pain, and much more.

Cynthia’s acupuncture treatments involve the goodness of the following:

Vital Energy

Vital energy is a traditional therapy that helps in rehabilitating a person. Cynthia focuses on providing traditional, physical, aquatic and occupational therapies to address all the rehabilitation needs. She also provides many alternative therapies and energy healing techniques for body, mind and spirit alignment. She specializes in acupressure, hands on manipulation and mobilization, massage and aqua detox.

Life Force

Life Force therapies are designed to provide solutions to different body and health problems using simple techniques. They offer solutions for disorders like muscular strain and pain, depleting health and awareness; to increase circulation of body fluids, stimulating the nervous system, induce deep relaxation, to create freedom from negative energies, improve sense of personal direction and increase confidence and focus.

About Cynthia

Cynthia Pearson is a licensed Acupuncturist and a Registered Nurse. She received a BS in Nursing from the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, and a Master’s degree in acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, formerly in Columbia, MD.

She has practiced Nursing for 25 years and acupuncture therapy for 18 years. She decided to get into Acupuncture when she became a mother and wanted a more flexible work routine. Having a lifelong passion for healthcare and healing, acupuncture was a natural fit. She knew that western medicine wasn’t the only way to gain health and wanted to explore the many possibilities of alternative medicine.

She continuously takes professional development courses on acupuncture from Chinese and Japanese teachers and has taken the Janet Travell Seminar on the treatment of chronic myofascial pain. The average acupuncturist takes about 60 credits of courses in four years; in the last four years, Cynthia has taken over 200. This reflects her dedication and professionalism that she has towards her line of work.

Since she was a nurse, she has a well-rounded background in healing and the medical field than an average acupuncturist. She is a good listener, and always makes sure the patient is her only focus during their appointment. Her office has a very relaxed and calming atmosphere.

Cynthia belongs to many professional organizations and associations including:

  • National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)
  • American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
(AAAOM)
  • Acupuncture Society of Virginia (ASVA)
